Title: Nurse Manager – Operating Room

- Division: Surgical Services
- Responsible for 160 FTEs and 21 operating rooms
Minimum Training and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing with an educational plan to obtain a Master’s relevant to the healthcare environment. Master’s preferred.
- At least three years of true management experience in Operating Room required.
- Management experience in a large university/teaching setting strongly preferred.
- Requires licensure as a registered nurse by the SC Board of Nursing and current BLS certification from American Heart Association or Professional Rescuers Card.
Job Summary:
- Reports to the Director of Surgical Services.
- Main OR contains – Ortho, Neuro, Otolarynology, Plastics, Oral Surgery, Peds, Peds CT, GU, GYN, Trauma (Level 1), Transplant (liver & kidney).
- Ensures the provision of his/her departments in collaboration with other health professionals in an environment that is respectful of others, accountable for outcomes and adaptive to change.
- Responsible for the planning and comprehensive operations of department/unit on a 24-hour basis.
