• Unit:  Level One Trauma Center & Chest Pain Center (CPC).
• Division:  Surgical Acute Critical Care Service Line.
• Responsible for 102 FTEs in 1 West and 23 fte’s in CPC.

Minimum Training and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing with an educational plan to obtain a Master’s relevant to the healthcare environment.  Master’s preferred.
• At least three years of true management experience in Emergency Department required.
• Management experience in a large university/teaching hospital or Level One Trauma Center is strongly preferred.
• Requires licensure as a registered nurse by the SC Board of Nursing and current BLS certification from American Heart Association or Professional Rescuers Card.

Job Summary:

• The level One Trauma Center see’s over 40,000 cases and about 1100 Trauma Activations annually. The Nurse Manager of our Level One Trauma Center & Chest Pain Center reports to the Director of Surgical Acute Critical Care (SACC) & Medical Acute Critical Care (MACC) Service Line.
• Ensures the provision of his/her departments in collaboration with other health professionals in an environment that is respectful of others, accountable for outcomes and adaptive to change.
• Responsible for the planning and comprehensive operations of department/unit on a 24-hour basis.
