The Inside Sales Representative helps generate revenue by maintaining, growing and serving new and existing inside sales accounts within an assigned territory.

This position requires high-quality customer service skills, including making rapid responses to customer inquiries and ensuring on-time product deliveries according to customer specifications. The Inside Sales Representative is also expected to sell branded products, up-sell additional services whenever possible.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build and maintain strong sales relationships with customers, and maximize sales penetration by selling the fullest possible product range to each account.
  • Support Territory Managers with new business development, prospecting for new customers, opening new sales accounts, and other duties as needed.
  • Order Management: ensure an efficient and profitable order process, and help customers as needed along the way.
  • Customer Freight: set up freight for on-time deliveries in line with customer specifications, and coordinate outside processing as needed.
  • Trouble-shoot potential problems with orders or inquiries, help solve problems and resolve claims.
  • Conduct sales forecasting to analyze high-potential accounts and help the Territory and sales team achieve its quarterly and annual sales goals.
  • Maintain open, consistent communication with customers and vendors via verbal and electronic methods.
  • Solicit feedback from customers on products, services, pricing and overall performance.
  • Conduct sourcing of non-stock materials (on a limited basis).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or commensurate sales experience in the steel industry or related manufacturing environment.
  • Abrasion Resistant Steel experience preferred, but not necessary.
  • Strong mathematical abilities and phone skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
