Title: Director of Sales Operations

The Director of Sales Operations is responsible for leading and managing Sales Operations and sales process optimization, while supporting all Sales Regions. This position requires a strong leader, extremely well organized, process/detail oriented and quality minded and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Lead and manage a staff of four to five direct people and up to 35 indirect personnel. Primary areas of focus include but are not limited to sales planning/operations management, process improvement, training, customer service, sales tools, sales communications, sales technologies and sales support/supplies.
- Sales operations staff responsibilities include tracking sales results versus individual objectives, maintaining and reporting sales compensation plans and design, annual and monthly revenue tracking and reporting, contract processing and managing sales operating costs and capital projects.
- Proactively identifies opportunities for sales process improvement. Works closely with sales management to inspect sales process quality and prioritize opportunities for customer commitment fulfillment improvement. Assists sales management in understanding process bottlenecks and inconsistencies. Facilitates an organization of continuous process improvement.
- Working with Manufacturing, Logistics, Finance, and Human Resources, provides assistance with sales acquisitions, new market implementations/expansions and business plans associated to the initiative.
- Monitors the accuracy and efficient distribution of sales reports and other intelligence essential to the sales organization. Recommends revisions to existing reports, or assists in the development of new reporting tools as needed.
- Implements enabling technologies, including CRM, to field sales teams. Monitors the assigned sales organization’s compliance with required standards for maintaining CRM data. Works closely with sales management to optimize the effectiveness of the firm’s technology investments.
- Leads the coordination and identification of training delivery to sales, sales management, and sales support personnel in the sales organization supported.
- Assist in the development and administration of sales key performance metrics and incentive compensation programs.
- Establishes performance standards and metrics for customer service levels and monitors the performance of customer service ,sales support and fulfillment initiatives
- Directs and supports the consistent implementation of company initiatives.
- Builds peer support and strong internal-company relationships with other key management and executive personnel.
Qualifications
- Four year college degree in Business Administration and or Finance with advanced course work in Marketing Strategies.
- 8 to 10 years practical experience with at least four years in a management level position along with significant Financial/analytical skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency managing analytically rigorous initiatives.
- PC proficiency.
- Maintain technical/professional proficiency in areas of responsibility through membership(s) in technical/professional associates/organizations and the use of related outside sources of information.
